my story

Serving others came naturally and was the best decision I had ever made.

Many lives have touched my soul.

They are the lives that have helped me throughout my own life. Some have helped with merely words spoken and remembered while others were visions of love and service. Each one of these lives will continue to live through me and it is my duty to preserve their memory by showing others the love and lessons that have taught me so much.

The loss of my mother at the age of 12 was the most difficult and most confusing time of my life. What I learned from that loss was that my mother’s physical presence was not always necessary because she was ever present in me. Present because of what she taught me and how she showed me motherly love. Her words and the words of my grandmother often replay in my mind when making decisions. Both of those wise women, who were loved and adored by many; had such a positive impact on so many lives.

After looking within for many years, I decided to be of loving service to others. I studied and became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. Serving others came naturally and was the best decision I had ever made. From serving others I learned that it is much more than attending to basic needs. I learned how important it is to be heard. I learned to listen and enjoy each story, each memory and lesson that was so unique. Most of all I have learned about the attention and care needed and how important it is to have guidance and direction at the end of life.

Being of service to others has been the most rewarding life experience. Since my certification I have been supporting individuals and families throughout their time of loss. What I have found to be the most rewarding of all is being able to provide others what I so desperately needed as that little girl.

Having support and guidance makes such a difference.
